If you've been keeping up with our podcast, you know we've had a running theme over the last few episodes.
The theme that underpins episodes 83 - 86 is simple:
I've had the honor of personally coaching over 2,000 people on how to improve their finances. Over and over again, I see one core problem continually trip people up...
no clarity or vision for their future.
I can already imagine some of you rolling your eyes at this point, but hear me out.
If you're having money problems, you likely jump to the conclusion that it's a technical skill you're lacking.
So you hop on YouTube and type in "how to budget" and get lost in tutorials.
It seems like you're on the right path. But you've done this exact same thing multiple times before - only to fail a few days, weeks, or maybe even hours, after setting up your budget.
You feel defeated before you even really get started.
The problem with budgeting, at least the way most people teach it, is that it feels restrictive. You start by creating a list of categories to track your spending, put in some guesstimates, and then start chopping away in an attempt to lower your spending.
This. Method. Sucks.
And this is why so many people throw in the towel.
That's why a clear and compelling vision is so important!
You should know the vision for your life for the next 1, 3, and 5 years. And that vision should excite you! And your budget should be a tool that's proactively helping you work towards it.
And yet, most people never take the time to sit down and write out their vision. If you're in that camp, I'd encourage you to checkout our most recent podcast episodes.
Start with episode 83: How To Not Hate Your Budget. Then Listen through to episode 86, where we discuss the importance of your journey to wealth.
These episodes will help you understand why having a vision matters, how to create your vision, and how to work it back into your budget. I know it sounds crazy, but if you do those things, you really will love your budget!
You can find the episodes I mentioned on any podcast player. Or watch them on YouTube to catch a glimpse of our very sweet, very cute, and very sleepy puppies. 🐶

Let me tell you a story about a guy who, in a surprising way, is probably a lot like you. We'll call this guy Dave. Just to be clear, Dave isn't real. 🙃 Dave has struggled with money his whole life. He's always felt like he never had enough. When he does manage to get a bit of money, it seems to go right out the door again. No matter how hard he saves or works, he struggles to get ahead.
